Witness from Minneapolis: Two Rabbis Report Back from the Front Lines

Learn more about the activity of ICE in Minneapolis and what local community members are doing to respond to the situation. Hear from first-hand accounts from Rabbi Nancy Kreimer and Rabbi Elyse Wechterman, as they explain what is happening on the ground and what we can do here, in our local community.
Biographies of Rabbi Kreimer and Rabbi Wechterman:
Rabbi Nancy Fuchs Kreimer is an emerita professor from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College where she founded the Department of Multifaith Studies and Initiatives. In March, she will begin serving a two year term as President of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association.
Rabbi Elyse Wechterman is a long-time immigration activist, having visited the Mexico-US border region three times, travelled to Guatemala with American Jewish World Service to understand the root causes of migration, and is a member of the HIAS Rabbinic Advisory Council. She currently serves as a co-chair of Indivisible of Greater Jenkintown and is a lead organizer with MontCo Community Watch (MCW), helping to support immigrant neighbors and friends here in Montgomery County. Professionally, Rabbi Wechterman served as the CEO of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association from 2015 -2024. Prior to that she was the spiritual leader of Congregation Agudas Achim in Atteboro, MA.
