Citizenship Beyond the Vote: A Practical Primer on How People-Power Can Impact Legislation

When

May 7, 2025
6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Please join us on Wednesday evening, May 7th, for an informational meeting and discussion about the role of everyday citizens in the legislative process. Sean Leber, who spent several years fighting corruption in Pennsylvania state government with March on Harrisburg, will provide a non-politician’s orientation to the processes that go into the creation of state and local law, focusing on the opportunities that we, as citizens and constituents, have to make our voices heard.  He will also share some of his personal experiences as a citizen lobbyist and democracy activist, highlighting both obstacles to, and avenues for, realistic meaningful impact.

This program will include a discussion of opportunities for active hands-on citizen engagement for those who are interested.

Pizza will be provided, as well as a parallel children’s’ activity to facilitate the participation of those with parental responsibilities.

Teens and interested older children are welcome to attend the main session.
