The Gift Shop will be having a dedication in Honor of Karen Stesis, who devoted her time and energy as manager and buyer for the Ohev Gift Shop, just one of the many ways she volunteered at Ohev Shalom.
A Tisch* will be hosted in her memory followed by the dedication.

*As we prepare to dedicate the gift shop after Havdallah, we will honor Karen’s memory with a Tisch in the final hours of Shabbat. Tisch literally means “table” in Yiddish, but it refers to a Chassidic practice of marking special moments by sitting around a table for food, storytelling, song, drink, and teachings from the Torah and other Jewish wisdom. Karen had expressed a desire to bring this experience to Ohev Shalom after she attended a Tisch that she found moving and inspiring. , While we were not able to organize it while she was living, we hope that her presence will be felt as we sing, eat, drink, and teach in her memory.
