Joan Joseph, Director of Education, arrived at Ohev Shalom in May of 2004. Joan has served as a teacher, Principal, and educational director from 1971 to present. She has a vision that our school not only teaches our children Judaism but shows them how to enjoy it. She has and will continue to expose the children to all the different facets of the way that our people have developed over the many years of history. Parents are always invited to join us and be an active part of passing on our rich heritage that we have received from our ancestors. Doing this the chain will never be broken.

Joan experiences Judaism with both eyes open and both feet going. She views every experience, holiday, ritual, and simcha as an opportunity to learn, to grow, and to embrace Judaism. She has made our school a very busy place since she arrived. Things are always going on. It is with great joy that she passes her experiences on to our children and hopefully the community. Joan is committed to making Judaism an important part of the identity of each child she spends time with.

 Joan Joseph is a wife, mother of three, grandmother of three, sister, and a devoted daughter to her dad.
