As a new member, your first year’s dues are free. Following the first year, the following scale determines dues:
Gross Income Annual Dues
Less than $25,000 $336.50
$25,000 – $45,000 $972.50
$45,000 – $75,000 $1272.50
$75,000 – $150,000 $1872.50
More than $150,000 $2572.50
Ohev Shalom offers a reduced membership rate for young members and families. Annual dues are $360 for single members and $540 for a family if the oldest adult in the household is younger than 36 years old on July 1st of the joining calendar year.
In addition, families with at least one child enrolled in Kehillah Early Learning Center receive a 10% discount on their total dues amount.
Although we recognize the importance of paying dues, Ohev Shalom welcomes all Jews to become members of our synagogue. If you feel that our congregation is the right place for you, we want you to join us regardless of your ability to pay. In cases of unusual hardship, adjustments can be made through the Dues Adjustment Committee. We will be happy to discuss this option with you if appropriate.
Building Fund/Restoration Fund
In order to maintain our building and grounds, each new member is required to make a $750.00 pledge to the Building Fund. The pledge can be paid in either one total payment or in installments over the first five years of membership. Payment is not expected until you complete your first year of free membership, but you are welcome to begin paying earlier if you desire.
Friends of the Seminary
Members of all congregations that are part of the United Synagogue movement are urged to voluntarily contribute $18.00 per year to support the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Your monthly financial statement will reflect your optional participation in this program.
