Interfaith Consortium

As part of its commitment to interreligious understanding, Ohev Shalom participates in two local organizations in the local community. For over two decades, at the inspiration of Rabbi Louis Kaplan, Ohev Shalom has been part of an Interfaith Covenant with Swarthmore Presbyterian Church and St. John Chrysostom Roman Catholic Church.

Each year, the trio holds seminars and lectures on comparative religious issues. In addition, the synagogue participates along with most other congregations in the Swarthmore/Wallingford area in the Interfaith Ministerium, which sponsors programs such as the annual interreligious Thanksgiving Service, hosted this past year by Ohev Shalom.
